Principal’s Welcome

Welcome to Marryatville Primary School

I am proud to be the Principal of Marryatville Primary School — a school with a long and proud history — and I am excited about the journey we are on together.

In 2024, MPS celebrated its 140th year of providing quality education to the local community. Throughout the year, our student leaders explored the school’s rich history, from its beginnings on the original Tusmore Avenue site in 1884 to the relocation of the junior primary to Dankel Avenue in 1962. The closure of the original building in 1978 led to our amalgamation as one school at our present location. This 140-year milestone was marked with a community Springfest, where a large school emblem was created on the oval and captured by a drone flyover featuring our current students and staff. With a strong appreciation for our past, we now look to the future with optimism as we educate the next generation to achieve their full potential.

At MPS, student wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do, ensuring that each child feels safe, supported, and valued. This strong foundation allows us to provide rich, engaging, and challenging learning experiences across all areas of the curriculum.

We are committed to meeting the needs of all learners, celebrating their strengths and supporting their growth. Education is most powerful when there is a genuine partnership between the school, families, and the wider community. Together, we can ensure that every student at Marryatville Primary School has the opportunity to flourish.

Thank you for being part of our school community.
