About Us

Marryatville Primary School, nestled in the heart of Kensington, South Australia, is a vibrant and supportive community dedicated to fostering a nurturing environment where every child can thrive. With an enrolment of approximately 500 students, the school prides itself on its strong community spirit, high levels of parental involvement, emphasis on wellbeing and a collaborative teaching approach.

Specialist programs in performing arts, French, science, physical education and HASS are delivered by dedicated teachers, enriching the curriculum and catering to diverse student interests. In 2025, MPS has committed to an extra focus on metacognition, self-regulation and developing learner agency through the teaching of the South Australian Curriculum. Beyond academics, Marryatville Primary offers a range of leadership and community service opportunities, encouraging students to develop confidence while building meaning and purpose.

Reception students transition from a range of preschools and child care centres such as McKellar Stewart Kindergarten, Margaret Ives Children’s Centre and Kensington Gardens Preschool. Most year 7 students attend Marryatville High School with some students zoned to other nearby high schools.
